Evangelicalism is another term for the body of Christians known as Evangelicals with strong emphasis on the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ’s atonement as the essence of the Gospel. They believe that this salvation by grace is brought about by a personal conversion or born again experience. The Evangelicals also maintain that the Holy Scripture is God’s revelation to the human people and that the spreading the Christian message is God’s privilege assignment for the saved person.
“You are saved to save others,” they say.
Today, there are about 285 million Evangelicals all spread through the Americas, Africa and Asia which is credited to its 18th and 19th century Great Awakening in the United Kingdom and in North America.
