Jerusalem - via dolorosa / Periods: Roman, Byzantine, Arabic.

In the old city of Jerusalem, approaching the last stations of the Via Dolorosa, we are situated in front of the most important church in the world: The Holy Sepulchre Church. This is the site of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

It is a well-known pilgrimage site filmed in Virtual Reality 360° for you.

At this station Jesus was undressed off his clothes, as in Mark : “And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take”. (Mark)

Out in the front courtyard, that we are situated now is a traditional site of station 10 of the way of the cross. It is situated at the entrance of the Church, in the Chapel of the Franks. The convicts were gathered here for execution, while the crowd watched the sight of these humiliated people. Jesus and the other condemned will then be spoiled of all their clothes, ridiculed by people. One by one, they’ll be taken up toward the Latin Calvary, the Station 11.
